THE COACHELLA OF SPA

The festival season is upon us and I am kicking-off it off this year with #EAUchella, a spa festival experience at Eau Spa that pays homage to Coachella with its creative spin on spa services, activities and entertainment. This sounds fun, right? The word fun always come to mind when I think of Eau Spa, an award-winning sanctuary that encourages you to Pause, Play and Perfect. At Eau Spa, self centeredness and indulgence never felt so welcomed or looked so good. Have you ever heard of the Spa Fairy? In case you haven’t, they are alive and well at Eau Spa, trust me on this.
My first visit to the Eau Spa, located in the Eau Palm Beach Resort, was two years ago. I was attending Spatec, a spa industry networking event that was being held at the resort. As part of the event, we were to receive a spa tour and it was an event highlight, for sure. Now, I completely understand why Eau Spa has a Five-Star rating with Forbes Travel Guide. With every turn, there is a joyful wonderland of playful relaxation that cannot be denied. This includes a private garden with cabanas, hanging swings above a dipping pool to skim your toes, and a relaxation room with cupcakes to nibble. I knew that it was only a matter of time before I would be back.
If Eau Spa wasn’t designed for a girls’ getaway, I don’t know what was. For me, Eau is a true Destination Beauty with everything it has to offer. With that in mind, it did not take much convincing for Anita to commit to a Palm Beach trip to refresh, play and rediscover time in relaxed glamour at Eau Spa. All I had to do was to throw in a hint of Coachella, a couple of spa fairies and a glass of champagne and she was in.
Our journey begins at the Four Seasons Palm Beach Resort – the epitome of hospitality. Here, we are soaking up the sun and exploring Palm Beach Island before our spa day as we prepare for our visit. We are at “that moment just before you begin, when you realize that what you wished for is about to come true.” This is one of the many quotes from Eau Spa and it certainly rings true.
We arrive at the Eau Palm Beach Resort, an intimate ocean retreat, situated on a private beach with lush tropical gardens and breathtaking ocean views. As we enter the spa, we are led to the Wishing Well where we pause to set a “self-centered” intention with a lit candle that we set afloat to carry out our desires. In true fashion, at Eau Spa, it is all about you. As if on command, a spa fairy comes to greet us (dressed in Coachella-inspired fashion) with a glass of champagne and we are led to the Scrub and Polish Bar.
For my service, I select the “Thank U, Next” Signature Massage, one of the Eau Spa, EAUchella festival services offered, this one inspired by Ariana Grande’s hit. With the music selection, I knew that it had to be a fabulous massage and, ultimately, I discover that I make the right choice. My spa fairy masseuse happens to be very knowledgeable about key pressure points and works magic, exceeding my expectations.
Eau spa is modern, playful and indulgent, everything you can image for a destination beauty – and, in some ways, like Coachella. Eau is situated on the sweeping back drop of Florida’s gold coast – a far cry from the remote Coachella desert. Yet, there is a certain “peace and love” quality to the atmosphere with an air of glamour that makes it appealing. Anita and I both depart with floral crowns on our heads feeling a sort of hippiedom, celebrating a new spa ideology.
