What Was The Brief?
Bocci Salon + Spa is a long-established brand with a clear growth mindset. Their leadership recognized it was time for their environment to reflect the same sophistication, energy, and evolution their brand had achieved. The goal was to reimagine the space in a way that re-inspired both clients and staff—an interior that captured Bocci’s modern luxury while honoring its strong foundation in service and style.
What Space Were We Working With?
Located in the vibrant heart of Sterling Heights, this salon and spa enjoys a prime position with exceptional visibility and accessibility. The existing space had great bones and solid architectural structure, which provided the perfect canvas for transformation. Our task was to refine, refresh, and reenergize—making thoughtful design decisions that would deliver both high functional return and lasting visual impact.
Our Design Ideas
From our first conversation with Jay Bocci, it was clear this would be a special collaboration. We set out to craft an environment that embodies timeless sophistication—an elevated yet approachable space that feels fresh, inspiring, and distinctly Bocci.
We placed intentional focus on the reception area, knowing it would set the tone for the entire guest experience. Our design vision centered around a striking balance of materials: statement marble paired with warm wood tones, soft gold accents, and subtle organic textures. Each choice was made to create that “wow” moment while maintaining a sense of calm refinement.
Material selection played a critical role. We chose surfaces that not only look luxurious but also perform beautifully in a high-traffic environment. A layered approach to lighting—combining a new tray ceiling with indirect illumination and sculptural pendants—brought depth and movement to the space. The interplay between linear and curved elements created harmony and flow.
Throughout the salon, new fixtures, stations, and equipment enhanced both function and aesthetic. One of the standout details is the bold blue wallcovering in the styling area—a high-impact, high-ROI feature that infuses the space with creative energy and unexpected elegance. The result is a setting that feels energized yet grounded, luxurious yet welcoming.
