What Was The Brief?
The overall objective was to design a medical wellness facility that was relaxing, comfortable and at the same time functional.
What Space Were We Working With?
This is a 2700 sq ft space, that previously was a sneaker store, a long way from a luxury med spa.
The space had its own challenges. It had an existing brick wall, which meant deciding whether or not to utilize it in the design. An older building with a split level, existing stairs, columns that constrained the designs, and mechanicals (HVAC and plumbing) getting in the way too.

Here you can see the design ideas that we came up with utilizing the space available. We had already designed their first location in Westport, Connecticut, and we wanted to keep their same design aesthetic but adapt it to New Canaan which is still a coastal town, but a more urban setting.
